Electronic Governance is definitely a revolution in the history of Indian government. This is something which seems impossible few year back. But today it is a reality; we all can enjoy and make our lives much more comfortable and relaxed.
What is
e-governance? This is the application of information and communication
technology (ICT) for delivering government services to the citizens in a
convenient, efficient and transparent manner. There are four basic models i.e.
government to citizens, government to employees, government to government and
government to business.
Intel is one of
the top most innovative technology companies. They always focus on betterment
of work process. They are giving complete support to the government to have a dream
of #Digital India.
Government
should be applauded for taking such initiative as this will transform India
into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. This will not only provide
access, equity and empowerment to the masses but also give transparent, affordable
and efficient public service delivery closer to the door of citizens.
The main focus
area of e-governance is to confer public service delivery, connected
government, integrated application systems, participatory and democratic governance
and capacity building. It will provide single window access point for citizens
to avail government services both informational and transactional through
Internet availability.
Today not only
urban but rural areas have an excess of internet facilities which is blessing
in disguise. Now each and every citizen will have a right to use this service
wherein they can get information, submit their application, make their payment,
check their status and even complain online without standing in a long queue. This
in turn increase their productivity and efficiency and leads to better economic
growth of our country.
In a country
where there is a corruption in every step of life, e-governance is an absolute
boon. Corruption has been cited as one of the most prevalent and persistent
challenges in enhancing economic growth and improving quality of citizens
across the globe. But with the help of e-governance, corruption can be reduced
as there will be less interaction with official, speeding up of decision and
reducing human errors.
“Transparency is
the key to e-governance and e-governance is the only way of transparent
governance” - NaMo.
